What is Cannabis?

Cannabis is a type of plant known for its medicinal and industrial properties. It has been used for thousands of years and is believed to alleviate and even cure some illnesses and disease.

Cannabis has a variety of cannabinoids,  compounds responsible for many healing properties including THC, CBD, CBN, CBG and many others. THC being the main cause for possible impairment.

With two basic types of cannabis strains (flowers), Indica and Sativa, you are able to select a variety of types to alleviate your symptoms.

Sativa: generally energetic, creative and thought provoking it is good for things like lack of energy, concentration and focus.

Indica: generally used for inflammation, anxiety and pain, Indica strains are used for relaxation, pain relief, nausea and more.

Hybrid: A combination of both Sativa and Indica.

Some common ways to take your medicine include capsules, gummy products, oils, tinctures, lotions, patches, vaporizers and more.

Always start low and slow with your medications...

What is Hemp & CBD?

Hemp, the industrial version of Cannabis is used to make a variety of products such as rope, clothing, fuel, medicine and more. It is rich in CBD and many other cannabinoids but is low in THC (.3% or less) and will not likely cause impairment.

With low levels of THC (.3% or less) hemp products are known for their medicinal properties and may be purchased without a medical marijuana marijuana card.

CBD only products are usually made from the CBD isolate and contain zero THC. These products are usually without THC and can also be purchased without a medical marijuana card.

The effects will be different with each person.

CBD products are generally safe to use multiple times throughout the day to relieve your symptoms.

Both HEMP & CBD Products come in a variety of ways to consume including capsules, gummy products, oils, tinctures, lotions, patches, vaporizers and more.

How to Use Your Cannabis

With THC rich products (Cannabis products from a dispensary with a THC level higher than .3%) our doctors suggest starting with a very low dose such as .5mg - 1mg
and wait 6-12 hours before taking more.

With CBD & HEMP products, our doctors suggest starting with a low dose such as
1-5mg and take as much or little as you need in the moment to alleviate your symptoms.

This is a process of experimentation like with any other medicine.

Smoking or Vaporizing: The effects may start immediately and last 1-4 hours.

Taking a capsule or eating an edible infused with cannabis will normally take 45 minutes to an hour to take effect and can last 6-12 hours.

When you use a tincture (oil) or spray by mouth the effects will most likely start immediately and can last a few hours.

Interactions/side effects - Cannabis and or Hemp/CBD may intensify the effects of alcohol, caffeine and other medications, may raise or lower blood pressure, may thin blood, may cause drowsiness.

* Please be careful using your new medicine and always inform your doctor of any medicine you might be taking.

 Arizona Medical Marijuana Law

The Arizona Medical Marijuana Act (AMMA) (A.R.S. § 520-838 4430) was implemented in 2010 and tightly regulates the Arizona medical marijuana industry. Currently, there are over 200,000 medical marijuana patients in Arizona. The Arizona Medical Marijuana Act is operated by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS). Below is a summary of the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act.
Who can possess marijuana in Arizona?"
Anyone 21 or older can posses up to 1 ounce of marijuana in the recreational program. Adults in the household can grow 6 plants each, total of 12 plants per household.

A qualifying patient is a person who has been diagnosed and certified by an Arizona-licensed M.D., D.O., M.D.(H), or N.D. as having a qualifying medical condition and then obtains an Arizona Medical Marijuana Registry Digital ID Card from the ADHS.

Qualifying medical conditions include: Cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, Crohn’s Disease, agitation of Alzheimer’s Disease, ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease), or a chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition, or its treatment, that produces severe and chronic pain, severe nausea, cachexia (wasting syndrome), seizures (including epilepsy), or severe and persistent muscle spasms (including multiple sclerosis).
How much medical marijuana can a qualifying medical patient possess?
A qualifying patient may purchase and possess up to 2.5 ounces of usable marijuana every two weeks. If the patient is authorized to grow marijuana (must live 25 miles away from a dispensary) they can possess up to 12 plants.
A designated caregiver may possess up to 2.5 ounces of usable medical marijuana for each qualifying patient and up to 12 plants for each patient (maximum of five patients).
Where in Arizona can you not use medical marijuana?
Medical marijuana cannot be smoked in any public facility or public areas (i.e. schools, parks, buses, etc.). Medical marijuana can be consumed in edible form in public areas. Persons cannot be prosecuted for being near someone who is legally using or possessing medical marijuana in Arizona. Adult care facilities can adopt rules for the use of medical marijuana at their facilities.
What other restrictions do qualifying patients need to know when using medical marijuana?
Anyone can get a DUI if marijuana is found in their system, including medical marijuana patients. An employer might not be able to penalize a medical marijuana patient for a positive drug test for marijuana, unless the patient used, possessed, or was impaired by marijuana on the employment premises or during hours of employment. The Federal Government still considers marijuana an illegal substance.
